Walkera 38# CH46 RC Helicopter. Modifications and tips

A video diary of the modifications made to this fascinating RC Electric helicopter. The video is presented in a 'how to style' but you modify at your own risk! That said I am very pleased with the results. Another note of caution! as the controls are now much more fierce, go steady when flying! this is not a stunt heli LOL OK May 2009 I have discovered that only one rotor set needs to be in charge! if both are the same they cancel out. Check the thread on the RC Forum here. www.rcgroups.com Then taking the advice here regarding keeping one rotor set almost unmoved I set about making the front set the ones that have nearly all the fore and aft control. The rear set just twitches a bit now where as the front set swash moves very clearly! I also biased the front swash forwards! so that you can actually see it when at rest. This I did by moving the puller rod to one of the outer positions of the servo wheel. Initial tests show I now have a hoverable heli that goes forward when asked even in a light wind

Syma S105 Micro Helicopter Review - 3D Look Micro Heli Radio Controlled

Visit www.fold3d.com for paper aircraft. Picked one of these Syma S105 Micro Helicopters for my son as a stocking filler for Christmas and it turned out to be much better value for money than I expected. This model really flys great. It looks the part too. We've made some minor mods to it and it flys even better. I will post a video on the mods soon. In any case I hope you enjoy this video. I actually paid $40AUD for this helicopter but you can buy them pretty cheap through ebay. Last I looked you could get them for around $25USD about $30AUD.

This micro battery driven helicopter has a set of contra rotation main and one horizontal tail rotor, that can be used to lift for forward flight or down to fly backward. Was bought for our Grandson and for me to have a try. I found it easy to fly straight out of the box, but as he is nowhere near the recommended age, we will have to see how long it is before he has it up on the roof.

Air Hogs Pocket Copter , world's smallest coaxial helicopter

This is the pocket copter from AirHogs, it's one of the world's smallest coaxial helicopter. It's a 2 channel aircraft meaning you control its up and down motion, it slowly moves forward on its own. It's very controllable for its size. You have trims on the transmitter that affect the left right turning speed, they can be used to help it fly straight, but they are more affective at making the left and right turn speed equal. As soon as you start flying you'll probably notice it turns quicker one way then it does the other but a few quick clicks on the trim fixes this in no time. It responds to your commands very quickly, and the slim transmitter sticks are very proportional and smooth. You should have no trouble making the heli fly the way you want it to. The flybar is much better than the one on the air hogs atom it doesn't have to fight it during forward flight and the plastic canopy handles wrecks very well. It's also very quiet and nonthreatening in the air so you can fly it around others safely. The transmitter is very powerful so it's easier to fly it in areas like offices with overhead lights that usually interfere with IR controlled helis. All together it's a lot of fun and it flies a lot like one of its larger cousins, once you get the hang of trimming and flying it that is. It does spool up a little slower than other micro helis, it's more like a larger helicopter, but you'll probably want to hold it in your hand to launch it so that it doesn't drift around on ...

William flies the clone

For me it was quite early, 8am in Newark. Had to get up at 7. GAH!! :) Thanks to William for providing me a handy parts list, I pretty much duplicated this helicopter you see, but mine is not ready to fly... so I decided to go check out Will's. The Align T-REX 450 is a genuine heavy-duty quality micro electric heli... this one is fully parts-compatible with the T-REX... its considered a "clone". Basically its a fraction of the cost, but I'd say maybe at least half as good? So after the math, I can live with buying 2-3 before I regret getting a clone. ;) Check out MikeysRC channel for lots of other cool RC videos.

2011 Sky Wizard single rotor Micro 3 ch helicopter Review

The Sky Wizard from Silverlit and Flying toys www.flyingtoys.com www.silverlit.com limited is a new bread of single rotor micro helicopters, much like the original picoo Z the sky wizard uses a patented self stabilizing single rotor much the same as the picoo z however it also uses a single magnetic actuator for forward and reverse motion. It move a small swash plate/shaft that is connected to the main rotor and it is much quicker and more responsive then the traditional 3 channel control method of a tail motor facing up. And since it has only one rotor it is extremely small, and great for small places. It seams more like a larger more expensive rc helicopter in a lot of ways when your flying it the look and reaction time is really nice and the forward reverse motion is stabilized by the gyro very expertly, the tail rotor has no trouble keeping up. Once I removed the limiter from the transmitter stick it was much more maneuverable and a lot more fun in the air. A quick 20 to 25 minute charge will give you a wonderful 7 minutes of flight. The Silverlit Sky Wizard is definitely a great helicopter for your collection and a great new spin on 3 channel helicopter.
